Bertrand E. Cottle has been practicing law since 1977. He is admitted to the California Bar, the United States Central District Court, and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Over the past 37 years he has handled Civil Litigation matters, Family Law and Probate cases, and assisted clients with commercial and real estate transactions, as well as estate planning matters.
Bertrand E. Cottle has successfully argued in front of the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and was counsel in the lead case (consolidated with several others) which resulted in one of the largest cash settlements of a class action suit brought under the California Song-Beverly Act dealing with the privacy and security of consumer information. Bertrand E. Cottle secured a judgment of 1.2 million for a business client against a foreign corporation. Over a number of years, he represented a group of home inspection companies in their litigation matters. He has successfully represented well over 2,000 individual and business clients.
A graduate of Western State University College of Law, Bertrand E. Cottle has taught law related courses at Chapman University and Santiago Canyon College. Although he has reduced his time in the practice, he continues to routinely consult with the firm and assist on client matters.
